Assault, Hitcham witness appeal
Police are appealing for witnesses after a member of the public was deliberately struck with a vehicle in Hitcham today, Sunday 11th November.
Police were called at around 10.45am this morning to reports that unknown offenders had been harecoursing on private land in Hitcham. When the landowner, a male in his 60s, confronted them, they drove their vehicle at him, causing him to suffer a back injury and a cut hand. The injuries are not thought to be serious but he is receiving treatment at West Suffolk Hospital.
The offenders also drove their vehicle towards a female, who was not hit, and drove their vehicle into the victims car before leaving in the direction of Preston St Mary.
Police officers are carrying out extensive enquiries in the area to locate the offenders.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the vehicle used by the offenders. It is described as a blue T registration Subaru that may be extensively damaged.
